The best things in life aren’t things hand-print art

Making a hand-print gift for the grandparents and one for us. Really simple to make.

Supplies Used:

  • White card stock
  • Blue and Pink acrylic paint
  • 8×10 picutre frame
  • Transparency film for ink jet printers
  • Printer ūüôā
First, I printed the image “The best things in life aren’t things” on transparency film for ink jet printers. Instructions say print on rough side without paper strip, the smooth side will not dry and will smudge. ¬†Also, in printer settings I printed it as a t-shirt transfer or you can set it to mirror image so it prints “flipped/reversed”.¬†

I decided I wanted to add a date on bottom left side. The font for date was Book Antiqua which matched image.

Next, put some acrylic paint on paper or paper plate. ¬†Use a roller to apply paint to child’s hands. ¬†Make¬†hand-prints¬†on paper¬†(remember to account for frame border or your¬†hand-prints¬†will be cut off).

Let the hand-prints dry, took about an hour.

Place the transparency film in first, then hand-prints¬†behind¬†it and voila! Cute gift for parents,¬†grandparents, or for yourself ūüôā I love ours came out so cute!!¬†
